THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS
We at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Ottawa, hold fast to the faith of Jesus Christ as taught by the Apostles, embodied in the Scriptures, preserved in the undivided Church. Our distinctive form of the Mass, Divine Worship, stands alongside the Ordinary Form and the Extraordinary Form (Latin), as the “Ordinariate Form”, an officially promulgated form of the western Rite of the Mass.
We are a small and intimate parish family seeking to grow in holiness through worship and fellowship. Originally an Anglican Church, on 15 April, 2012, our parish was received, individually and corporately, into the Catholic Church under the provisions of the Apostolic Constitution, Anglicanorum coetibus.
While we are most pleased to have been received by Archbishop Prendergast, and to reside geographically within the Archdiocese of Ottawa, we are canonically members of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, which our Cathedral Church, Our Lady of Walsingham, and Chancery Offices are in Houston, Texas. Our diocese currently covers all of Canada and the United States.
All Catholics are welcome to come and worship with us; in so doing you will have fully satisfied your Sunday obligation. We look forward to seeing you, and to sharing ‘the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral traditions of the Anglican Communion within the Catholic Church, as a precious gift nourishing the faith of the members of the Ordinariate and as a treasure to be shared’ (Pope Benedict XVI, Anglicanorum coetibus). Come and discover the Venerable English Mass!

COME AND WORSHIP
Annunciation, located within the diocese of Ottawa, is a community of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter. We worship the Triune God with Sacral English and beautiful music in a manner that keeps ancient English Catholic tradition alive here in the city. We have an accent on the Catholicism found in England before the Protestant Reformation and on the spiritual patrimony that survived and sustained the faithful through it. But with all of that said, the faith expressed at Annunciation is not a ‘museum faith’ but is rather one that is lively and actively engages a culture that is largely indifferent (and often hostile) to the Church that Christ founded two-thousand years ago. Discover the rich and deep traditions of the Church by worshipping with us! All are welcome!
